The Walt Disney Company was co-founded by Walter Elias”Walt” Disney. He was born on December 5, 1901. Walt Disney is the co-founder of the company with his brother Roy O. Disney. He was a multiple Academy award-winning film producer, entertainer, voice actor, animator, director, screenwriter philanthropist, entrepreneur and an international icon. He became one of the best-known motion picture producers in the world when he co-founded Walt Disney Productions and became influential during the twentieth century in the field of entertainment.
He won prestigious awards including fifty-nine Academy Award nominations and twenty-six on Oscars and seven Emmy Awards. He himself with his staff created famous fictional characters like Mickey Mouse. Walt Disney died on December 15, 1966 at the age of 65 because of lung cancer.
