The world’s tallest man is Robert Pershing Wadlow. He was recorded the tallest human being. It was due to an overactive pituitary gland why he grew up to 8’ 11” (272 cm) in height and 222.26 kg (490 pounds) in weight before his death at the age of 22.
He was born on February 22, 1918 in Allton, Illinois. He became the world’s tallest Boy Scout at the age of 22 with the height of 7’ 4” (224 cm).
At 18, his shoe size is 37 costing $100.00 a pair and he rose up to 8’4” (254cm) and weighed 177 kg. (390 lbs).
He travelled with his father around USA for a promotional tour with International Shoe Company where he signed a contract at the age of 20 and in exchange, he received free shoes. He enrolled in Shurtleff College in 1936 pursuing law.
Wadlow was taken ill on July 4, 1940 with a faulty brace that had caused bad infection and a blister in Manistree, Michigan. He was treated with emergency surgery and blood transfusions but his fever got worse. He died on Jult 15, 1940 in his sleep and he was buried in Alton July 19.
